My Dad was on SS Scapa Flow and was torpedoed by a german u-boat. After they were on the lifeboat for a while the U-boat came towards them and they were a little nervous about what would happen. The Germans actually gave them a little food and some medical supplies and then waved goodbye and left. If you need any information my Dad has passed but his best friend, William Doane, who we found due to Tom Bowerman, can tell you plenty of stories. He would love to talk to others about the old days. His phone number is 1-863-471-9424 Thank god for Tom Bowerman and C>A> Lloyd they are the reason that my Dad was in touch with Bill Doane the last year he was alive. I have to say I have not been on the website in awhile and was so very saddened to hear about Tom Bowerman's death.
