Greetings, I have just come across a "Domain of the Golden Dragon" certificate awarded to my uncle TSgt William H Abbott, who served in the Pacific War in Hawaii, then New Guinea, then to Luzon. He came home on the Marine Falcon in October - November of 1945. According to the ship's log posted on a ship's news paper "The Falcon Cauldron," troops boarded on 29 October in Nagoya Japan. I don't know how they got there from Luzon, but according to the log they traveled the Great Circle route until 5 November, and arrived in Seattle on 11 November. Apparently, from all the different posts, the Marine Falcon has quite a history. I would appreciate hearing from anyone with knowledge of the early history of it.
