which doesn’t blend well with the summery weather we’ve been enjoying
here in Winchester. I’m happy to say we have had no winter snow in this part of southern England for a few years and we hope this trend will continue.
I hope your surgery goes well Gerald. Perhaps we might all take your
advice and write about the place in which we live.
Take for instance Mechanicsburg! I take it this town was founded by some form of engineering group.
As far as Winchester is concerned it was quite a small town at the time
the Romans invaded England two thousand years ago thereafter we were occupied for four hundred years.
Six hundred years after the Romans left, the Normans from France invaded in 1066. And to them we owe the building of the famous
Winchester Cathedral 900 years ago.
England hasn’t been invaded since. Uncle Adolf had thoughts about
it but decided Russia might be an easier prospect.
So may I wish you all a very happy October and hopefully enjoying the
early Autumn sunshine.
