I just picked up a rather unusual item from the estate of a gentleman who served in the Navy during World War II. It is made of either silk, rayon or nylon, or some other type of similar material. It is long and somewhat narrow. Its like a pillow case, but with no opening. It is around 18 inches wide by 72 inches long. "U.S.N" printed on either end on one side.
Could it be a table cloth?
I thank all of you who served. My father was a waist gunner/radioman in the 8th Air Force during WWII and was very proud of his service. YOu gentleman are truly the "Greatest Generation."
