You never can tell what you are going to find when you start digging into your family history. Most of my family seemed to settle in the Southeast. many of them Confederate soldiers during the Civil War. I found the exact location in Northern Virginia where my Great Grandfather, John W. Haynes, was killed. I also learned that 8 of my ancestors fought in the American Revolution, proof of which enabled me to become an active member of the Sons of the American Revolution. So many interesting things to learn about one's family. It brings the past to life again and it is surprising to learn how much influence our past relatives have had on us. John Haynes
