Rick: Your reference to the HyperWar site prompted me to go there, and, to my surprise, I found a history of the Brooklyn A.G. Center that I had not seen. I had never spent a lot of time there, being always a transient, and had never given much thought to the massive effort to keep track of the scores of thousands of people at sea on hundreds of ships all over the world. The officers and yeomen and storekeepers and others who looked after the personnel, their health, their pay, their mail, and God knows what else are deserving of much credit.
