I am the son-in-law of Evan Rowlands who was 2nd Mate on board the Induna, part of Convoy PQ13. Sadly he has now passed away but you may be interested in his account of the sinking of his ship and how he and a few others managed to survive. He was in charge of the starboard lifeboat and his courage and leadership was rewarded with the MBE and Lloyds Medal. We have a DVD recording of his account of the events and am in the process of writing up his life story. He survived 4 shipwrecks, including twice being torpedoed.
This is the official report he made
http://www.warsailors.com/convoys/pq13induna.html I recently came across Morris O Mills account of PQ-13 - "PQ13, Unlucky for Some", which I found quite heart breaking.
Last year I also made contact with James Campbell, who was Cabin Boy on the Induna. I'm not sure if he is still alive.
