I have to tell you about the article in the Birmingham News where they were offering veteran's or their families 1 inch up to 4 inches maximum to say something about your veteran. Don't get to excited! It came with a heavy price. One inch was $15.50 up to 4 inches at $62.00.
I was furious that they were playing on our emotions to make a buck during this Veteran's Day holiday. I feel that all of us should honor our veterans because they and their families have already sacrificed to give us this freedom that we so love. I felt that the paper should have donated the space on a first come first serve basis. They print so much junk in papers today. We all know that all papers are losing money and soon we won't have a printed paper due to technology.
I refuse to pay the paper! I have made a point of showing my dad that I'm extremely proud of what he did and went through during WWII. I will not give them one penny.
To all you "ole salts" out there, I'm so proud of each and every one of you. You have made it possible for me to dream and have the freedom to reach for that dream. Know that on Veteran's Day that my heart and soul will be honoring you all.
Sincerely,
Dayla Newton

I know that out in the world there are Armed Guard men that have lost their spouse and their children live in another state. Most veterans are to proud to write it themself.
