Mary Ellen: Speaking for myself, your two cents' worth is welcome here. I and, I'm sure, many others are interested in the experience of people with spinal disorders. Some have had good luck with chiropractors but I'm wary of anyone setting out to rearrange my bones. And some have had success with the steroid injections. But I'm told that these need to be repeated and that there's a limit to how many can be tolerated. Surgeons will of course recommend surgery; that's what they do. Ethical ones will tell the patient that success is neither guaranteed nor effective in every instance. I don't like the idea of gambling with my future, especially in light of the fact that it gets shorter with the passing of every day.
