Today was one of the best in my life.. while looking through some old boxes I found all the letters home my Dad wrote in WWII..about 50 or 60. Some envelopes show SS Yugoslav Victory in the return address and others SS John Lykes or SS Tawali. I wish I had some pictures of the Naval Armed Guard but there were only 2 photos of Dad on his ship. I did order a book off ebay called "Unsung Sailors: The Naval Armed Guard in WWII." I haven't received it yet but I'm sure it has some pictures that would interest us Sons and Grandsons of WWII Naval Armed Guard Servicemen and that is why I posted this info. Hope it helps!
PS- I recently started putting a scrapbook together and was able to obtain a couple original documents about crossing the equator that had not been filled out yet. The letters I found today will give me the actual dates I needed to fill it out accurately, so I'm quite pleased.
