Here is a picture of a Liberty ship that had her rudder and propeller blown off by a torpedo, and cracks made in her hull, but she wouldn't sink. A navy tug took her in tow and was proceeding to port when another vessel crossed and broke the towline and the Liberty ended up on the rocks off the Nova Scotia Coast. Four Armed Guard boys were blown off the fantail and three of them perished, and four other lads were wounded. I was a signalmen on this ship about four months earlier, and proudly place her under the umbrella of Fran's Ode to the Liberty ships.
