One of the most memorable accounts of the Arctic convoy battles was written by a British coxswain who served aboard the Northern Gem, a converted fishing trawler, sailing as a Rescue Ship. Included is an account of the attacks on Convoy PQ-17 and QP-14, its return convoy, the Battle of the Barents Sea, and Battles of the Western Approaches. Several hours of excitement here. http://www.naval-history.net/WW2Memoir-RussianConvoyCoxswain.htm#for
