Liberty ships and Victory ships

Hopefully, you won't make me swab the deck for asking such a basic question!! I thought I knew the difference but when I was trying to explain it to someone, I realized that I didn't so here goes.....What's the difference(s) between a liberty ship and a victory ship? A matter of different design? purpose? what? I could Google the answer, but I'd rather hear it from folks on the AG board. Thanks in advance for your answers....and for not making me swab the deck!!!
