Hope all of you have a safe and happy 4th. At this time when we celebrate our freedoms we should remember those who gave them to us or have fought to preserve them for us. I had two brothers in service during WW II one army and one navy armed guard. Now I am going to get personal and brag a little. I have been researching my family for about 3 years and I just found where my g. g. g. grandfather on my mother's side of the family applied for his pension for service in the revolutionary war. He was at Valley Forge in the winter of '77 and '78 was discharged in Feb. of 1778. His request was approved adn he got $8.00 a month. At his death in 1839 his wife applied for widows benefits and got $6.17 a month. This from the archives of Sumner Co. Tennessee. Thomas and Milley Taylor were originally from Virginia.
