Thanks from all of us for doing your part to keep these memories alive. Of all the stories I read today about D-Day, the one that touched me most was the one about Jim Norene.
Mr. Norene was a member of the 502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne at Normandy. He was invited by President Obama to attend the ceremonies this week. Despite being seriously ill, Mr. Norene happily went to France, and after visiting the cemetery where so many of his comrades lay, he returned to his hotel and passed away in his sleep. Now he too rests with his fallen comrades.
