I said I didn't object to the Merchant Mariners getting this benefit, but the disparity in pay during the war was substancial. Merchant Mariner Sailers not only recieved more pay but recieved bonus's after making a trip to Europe, I agree that the stipend should extend to Service Personel and the way our Government wastes money, it wouldn't be too much to ask. There are only about 10,000 Mariners left and less Armed Guard personel. Most of us are in our 80's who are left and could sure use some help.
