Re: Article out of The Pointer about an Armed Guard novel
I have received no emails except several from Chas Lloyd regarding the MS and some other matters pertaining to an AG reunion some weeks ago in Texas. I am working on a synopsis of the novel in order that a browser may see what it pertains. The tale is made up of over fifty chapters, each one looking at a facet of the mission. The German opponents receive proper treatment - some may say better than they deserve. I served a tour of duty with the (West) German Navy and found the sons and grandsons of Kriegsmarine sailors to be every bit as professional as we are; from what I can determine, the German Navy in WWII were equally as talented. Submariners in particular were tough opponents and the least "Nazified" of the Wehrmacht branches. One of my German officer friends' dad was a reconnaissance flier out of Norway. He was killed when hit by flak -- from an armed merchant ship. The world is very small and irony is everywhere. It could have been my dad's gunners who fired the fatal shot. I look forward to chatting and will be happy to give a sneak peek to anyone who wants to read an unpublished author! V/resp'y, Steve Myers in PA.
