This website contains a lot of stories. In many cases the men to whom those stories belong are gone and for some this website may be the only repository for those stories. Other stories remain to be told and recorded. Maybe yours.
But the point is not to record your memories on this message board or on this website, although I will gladly post those stories when they come my way. What is most important is that you record those stories, or at least some minimal information, somehow, somewhere, and leave them with someone.
Armed Guard vets, Navy vets, merchant marine vets, veterans of all kinds, whomever you are, tell your stories and record them, here or elsewhere. Generations unborn will thank you.
I and millions of others, whether we acknowledge it or not, enjoy the benefits of a great nation in part because of what our fathers or grandfathers or uncles, which is to say all of you veterans, did once upon a time. Tell your stories. Do it now.
And to Fran, thanks again.
