Point Richmond location. Most of it was roped off
at the times I was there and couldn't locate anybody. One visit was for Tom Bowerman as he wanted to know what phase it was in. I retired from Chevron and spent most of my time in the Refinery. So these visits were combined with the
annual Refinery retirees picnic. As I retired to Red Bluff visits are combined.
I was an A.G. gunner on the Vanderbilt Victory
for the last several months of WW11. My sleeping
quarters was the aft deck house as my gun station
was a 20mm located on the aft. I think Ron's suggestion would be the best on getting pictures
on the layout of the sleeping quarters. And maybe you will get swamped from old salts that live close to the two ships. The Navy crew was banned on having cameras. And the ones that took pictures anyway was not of sleeping qrts. So this
would be a rarity. Looking forward to a visit. And thank you for the update on the Red Oak and all the work to restore it. Hope you come back on
here and keep us old salts posted.
