"May God help us become a better nation." I say amen to that, Roy, and I expect it's going to be pretty much up to God alone. In the campaign, as is customary, Barack Obama promised us the moon, something for everyone (except the well off), but this morning's NY Times reports that his people are now backing off, conceding that he won't be able to keep all his promises right away. All of us had best pray that he succeeds, because one serious misstep could lead to consequences no one has seen fit to discuss openly.
