My name is Theodore M. Richey, my Dad served as Pursur and Hospital Corpsman abord the Richard H. Alvey from 8/28/43 (date of shipment-New York) to 11/13/44 (date of shipment abord the SS John Hey). His name was PHM 3c Theodore "Ted" W. Richey, he recieved basic training at Sheepshead Bay, New York. I have his sea papers and some other momentos, and I am interested in knowing more about his service and what he experienced. He was tight lipped about it all when I was a kid except for a story about a captured U Boat and the execution of its crew by a British Friget (he remarked that the U-Boat crew were very young, all under 20 he thought)
Anyway, if I can share his information with others in his crew or their decendents I would be more then happy to do so.
Thanks, T. Richey
