Winter may be on its way in your part of the country, Roy, but there's no sign of it here in Southern California. Daytime termperatures have been in the mid-90's for the past week or so, with more of the same in the forecast. High temperatures, low humidity and gusty winds: a perfect recipe for wildfire.
Winding down? We all are. I've reached the point where I'm reluctant to ask about any of our contemporaries, for fear of being told, "Oh, he's been dead for years." Hang in there, as the kids say. Next marker: 90.
