My fathers log book from the Armed Guard has all the ships he served on during WWII. His last entry is the SS Permanente boarding sometime in the fall of 1944. He was signalman I haven't been able to find much of anything about the ship or its movements. Since starting my search of my father's life I was completely unaware of the service the Armed Guard did. I am totally awed by the service and sacrifices made by these who served.
