I will have to call my uncle this weekend. He lives in Blacksburg, Va. I am waiting for his service records to arrive. Then I will know what ships he was on. He's not sure of them and asked me to find out what I can. There are cruises out of Baltimore on the John W.Brown, a liberty ship based here and restored. Its a day cruise, a few times a year. The Navyhad liberty ships in the 50's & 60's. They were outfitted as radar picket ships, some on east coast,others on west coast. I got to do a day cruise on one that my dad was assigned to. Where do you live?
