I am looking for info re: the Northern Sun's rescue of three seamen from the shelling and sinking of the tug Menominee by a German U-boat off the coast of Virginia on 31 Mar, 1942. Need to know what happened on board the ship. My brother was one of the three rescued, along with the captain and chief engineer of the tug. Documentation I have indicates he was alive when rescued but died on board. I have no other data other than his body had no visible marks when he arrived home for burial. Can anyone help?
