Re: A Death in the Family
I attended Leonard "Bud" Winter's funeral. Bud hated the name Leonard and his middle name as well. Bud met his wife at a USO dance. She was aware of Bud's name preference. She was also aware of his desire early in life for fun and adventure. He found them both in the Armed Guard. During the service, the Priest only said Leonard at the opening. Most of the remaining service he spoke of "Bud" and the great love of his NAVY Service time. The wife had clued the Priest in. The tri-folded flag on Bud's casket was presented to his wife. Yes, a death in the family; a big void in our groups. On your new adventures and making God laugh...God Bless.
