You are right....they were very brave men and so few people today know of their sacrifices. That's one of the reasons I'm so very, very grateful for this web site. I'm not sure if there will ever be a generation like that of our fathers and the other heroes of the Armed Guard including the heroes who post here. I'm so thankful to Mr. Bowerman for creating this web site and now to Ron Carlson for keeping it going. My father didn't talk much at all about his WWII experiences but toward the end of his life he would give us more information than he had previously. He bought a computer shortly before he died hoping that he could get information about the AG, but, unfortunately, he had major eye issues (surgery) almost immediately after buying it and just couldn't see well enough. He would have LOVED this web site and been in awe of all of the information. He also would have loved communicating via e-mail with other AG's. But I'm certain that he is having a wonderful time in heaven with all of his comrades where they are now safe and no longer in harms way. Please keep in touch as time allows. Also, please post often on the message board if you can. God bless you.

Thank you so much, Allen, for your kind response. I, too, will let you know if I come across any information about your father's ship.
