i am now on my fourth 944 and probably will never have another car that is such a joy to drive. a few years ago i had an '86 944n/a and drove it nearly 2000 miles in a course of three days ing a fairly bad snow storm and it was more fun than i could express the only problems that i had were my slick street tires and going so fast i would slide of of the road but very capable of doing the job the only thing that you should watch are your revs dont try to exceed 3000 because the motor really zips if your tires are on snow but a great driving experience try doing power slides through corners anh what not.
: This may just be me, but if you're expecting to
: drive the 944 a lot during the winter, you'd
: better hope they plow the roads frequently.
: I have a 87 944 NA and for the past two
: winters I've gotten seriously stuck at least
: 6 times despite snow tires and increased
: weight in the rear. The main problem is
: front spoiler getting caught up in the deeper
: snow and with the 944's low ground clearace.
: I'm keeping the car in the garage this winter
: and driving an AWD when it starts to snow.

: I have been thinking on buying a 944 85.5'
: and
: up. I live in Bend,Or, or central oregon for
: those who were questioning. We have long
: winters and I have been tring to find out how
: well they would work in snow. I have done
: alot of reaserch on them, and I would think
: they would do allright.
: If anybody has had any expirence with 944s
: and snow I would love to hear from you.
: Also if anybody interested in selling one for
: around 3 to 4,000 I could be interested.
: Thanks!
