This may just be me, but if you're expecting to drive the 944 a lot during the winter, you'd better hope they plow the roads frequently. I have a 87 944 NA and for the past two winters I've gotten seriously stuck at least 6 times despite snow tires and increased weight in the rear. The main problem is front spoiler getting caught up in the deeper snow and with the 944's low ground clearace. I'm keeping the car in the garage this winter and driving an AWD when it starts to snow.
