not sure what part your doing
there is a little spring you press
and you will release the wiper from the arm
and then push the other one on
all wipers ar not created equel
you may put a new one on and find out you have alot of play between the wiper and the arm
this happens alot when using aftermarket wipers
if you have play put a very small washer between
the stud and the wiper arm
this will keep everything stiff
