William Albert Leggett is : my great grandfather. : Hi Penny from debra, the owner of ancestorville...i live near a leggett road, and my 1750's dutch farmhouse was owned by the leggett family, who are all over ghent and chatham new york, in the the beautiful upper hudson valley, columbia county... i know there is a heavy dutch influence in this area, near albany. i believe the leggetts came up from landing in manhattan in the 1600's and settled all up through this area... hope that helps some. i found info in google searches on them in this area. good luck! let me know what you find here! sincerely, debra
