Identifying tintypes

I have a small collection of family tintype's I am trying to date, in the hopes of identifying them. I'm wondering if someone would offer their expertise on a few issues? If a photo is of a man and a woman with the woman standing besides the man with her hand on his shoulder, would you assume this is husband and wife? or could they just be siblings? Also wondering if anyone has any thoughts on funeral type pictures. I have a picture on a card mount, (large 8" x 10" roughly)which is really a picture of a picture, with funeral type flower arrangements around it. I also have a small tintype of the same picture that is in the larger picture. (am I making any sense?) I am trying to figure out what this should be telling me? time frame? relation? (banner in the flowers says "father"), why would someone take this picture? I would have to guess that someone used the small tintype to make a larger picture, somehow, then set up the larger picture at a funeral and then took a picture of the funeral arragements with the flowers and picture in it. Any thought? Thanks for any help or direction. I an e-mail a scan of either the tintype or the funeral picture if anyone wants to take a look. In case anyone is searching for "Radcliff's" in Ohio, this is from that line.
