According to his death certificate, Augustus A. Goddard died 5/30/1954 in Fayette County, W VA. His usual residence was in Danese. His date of birth is given as 6/7/1884; place of birth W VA; father's name John Goddard and mother's name Ann Adkins; he was married and the informant was Mrs. Nancy Ann Goddard. He was buried in a cemetery named "End of the Trail" of all things!
Since your Cleora appears in the 1900 and 1910 censuses with Augustus and not Gustavius as you called him, I would say he is the right fellow. To see the actual death certificate yourself, go to

Although there are birth and marriage records, it doesn't look like Fayette county is covered yet.
