Does the term "chocolate tintype" refer to the color of the base? It isn't really coated with chocolate in the mixture is it? I know this may sound ludicrous to question this, but I have five tintypes of men I do not know who they are. I saw on a website that the "chocolate" type was only used in specific years. Obviously, by being able to determine the date of them, I will be able to determine the men. Thank you.
