I am trying to find my gggrt grandmother`s death info.I have nothing no date of death or cause or where she was buried. Her name;
Mazilla Russell acording to her ages on the different census yrs. she was born in the middle of oct.1825 Va but old or new dont know and dont have anything of who her parents were,except they came from Ireland lived in Md. then Va.
Mazilla married in Athens co.Ohio dec.26,1845 to Cyrus Mitchell they lived there for about 5 yrs had 3 children then moved across the river to Va(West) to Wood co. Parkersburg twp and had my ggrt grandfather Geo. Washington Mitchell jan.22,1863.I think her fam was also in the lumber business as Cyrus and his fam.were in Ohio and Va(west) I also think they were involved in building the bridge that goes from Ohio to W.V because my gggrt Granfather`s fam were in Ohio for 4 yrs. and they were also in the lumber business,then came back to W.Va to Mason co. and by that time Mazilla and Cyrus moved down to Jackson co. WVa. and then moved to Crawford coIL Oblong twp by late 1869 Where they farmed and Cyrus`s bro John Washington Mitchell already moved to Crawford co.and bought 160 acres of land and I think Cyrus moved onto his property.Becaus I never found any land he bought only John. I know that Cyrus had moved in with his son Geo and in the 1900 census in Richland co.Olney twp. and then in 1903 Geo and wife Mary Francis (Russell)(Fanny),Mitchell moved to Coles co.IL where Cyrus died in aug.1906 and is buried in the Dodge Grove cemt. there as is Geo and Fanny and htier dau and my grandmother and my mom. When Cyrus died the Mattoon Journal and the Mattoon Star,didn`t mention Mazilla`s death. The last thing written of her was in 1885 when Crawford co.did a head check and she was 55, She wasn`t in the 1900 census or in the Oblong cemt where her children had died from the fever in 1870 are buried and others after her. But she isn`t on the list for any of Crawford co. cemt.
