I've retrieved mine once, AND never more;) He will be around there, somewhere an can survive for very long, exept when encountering predator or larger straight beaked birds. He might be smart enough hiding for those, therefore he might sit on one place for a long period before moving a litle bit now and then. You should listen and call for him, but you must try to spot him rather rely on hearing him. Have treats if you find him and take your time making him safe. Don't rush him, because the chanse og flying again then is high. Mount a ladder away from etc etc.
: I bought a blue fronted amazon six
: weeks ago and he is 8 months old. He
: managed to escape on Wednesday night
: at around 5.30pm. We have 3 acres
: and are surrounded by trees, so I
: got up at 6am the following morning
: hoping he would be in one of the
: trees. Unfortunately he didn't
: respond to any of my calls and he
: has not turned up. Does anyone know
: what the chances of him returning
: are? He is a good talker and he had
: bonded with the whole family, he
: also loved his food.
