Typically a bird will either bond with another bird or a human so it sounds like it has been taking to your Mcaw lately. If you dont have the time to separate them and retrain your DYH then perhaps it is time to let her go. So sorry to hear about your emotional loss.

: I really love Puchy, my DYH. However,
: she is 9 years old and originally
: bonded with my ex-husband when she
: was young. Since she was my first
: baby parrot, I didn't really know
: how to raise her (don't know if male
: or female). When she would growl,
: I'd assume she didn't want me to be
: around her since she didn't growl at
: husband, etc. Now, she has bitten
: me quite a few times and will attack
: for no apparent reason. She also
: bonded with my Hahn's Macaw and when
: I pick him up, she'll run towards me
: protecting him.
:
: I am really considering selling her.
: I am in South Florida. Any
: ideas/comments? I'm at wits end. I
: also own an African Grey (1 yr old)
: and the Hahn's Macaw (2 yrs old).
:
: I've included a link here so you can
: see all three (although this was
: when I first brought home my Grey
: who was three months old).
:
: Thanks
