If he turns the wrong way he things my daughter left the room and starts SCREAMING. Sure makes for a loud home. I don't know if you can work your bird's chatter into something you enjoy? See if you can guess what it it saying. Repeat it and see if it repeats you back. If you whisper does it whisper? I don't think the bird was attacking your friend. I think it was just getting comfortable in it's new home and seeing what was out there and feeling very safe. Have fun with your bird. --Previous Message--

My thought is that a parrot that is old has had a hard life. We took in a parrot that was close to 30, a red headed Mexican. He is a nasty old man. he has softened with age and lots of trying. He wouldn't let anyone hold him for more then a minute. The he started letting us hold him longer. My daughter is his favorite. She spins him around and pats him like a dog. If she leaves his sight he SCREAMS. I truly means screams. He bites her every once in a while. For about a year she had to use a welding glove so he wouldn't hurt her. We both have scars all over our fingers, hands, and arms. I have decided that we will help make his last years his most comfortable.
: Ok. I go to Mississippi and help my
: friends get the last of their
: belongings. One thing is a 40+ year
: old orange-winged. He hardly says
: words but boy is he vocal. He
: doesn't let anyone touch him but my
: friends mom and I are the two he
: lets the closest. He takes food from
: my hand. Well, anyways. This bird
: never leaves it's cage, it's missing
: part of it's wing so the cage is on
: the floor so it doesn't get hurt.
: Tonite he made an exception and a
: dive at my friends head. I have a
: matress on the floor about a foot
: away from the cage and my friend was
: laying on it. The bird managed to
: land it and not on my friend but
: then climbed onto the matress and
: sat there. What is going on?
