Thank you to the two, friendly Alaska Sailing Club members whom I met on Sunday, July 5. One gave me the shirt off her back!--the ASC t-shirt and the other gave me the ASC burgee from her winning boat from the Firecracker Regatta!
I was suppose to visit on July 4 but got deterred in Wasilla. I brought the burgee from my boat club, the Old Dominion Boat Club in Alexandria, VA. It was signed by Virginia Attorney General Bob McDonnell, who is now a candidate for Virginia Governor.
The Old Dominion Boat Club was established in 1880 mainly for the purpose of starting a rowing (crew) club. The Club sits on the banks of the Potomac River where you can see the U.S. Capitol and the Washington Monument.
If any member of the ASC is in the Washington, DC area, give me a shout at LaDonna@wsRadio.com and maybe I'll be able to show you the ODBC and perhaps a cruise on the Potomac.
