In a larger area we use a cotton ball to apply and then throw it out. In a small area we use a brush and then clean it up with alcohol on a cotton ball after done and let it dry till next use.
We do not put anything over the glitter.
A clown friend of ours turned us onto buying glitter together and we buy a large amount and transfer it into plastic film containers. We are till on the same batch for four years now. It lasts forever.If I have two booths at a Faire I put my Daughter next to me doing Face Painting. We use same Glitter. Good Luck
