This is kinda a long question hopefully someone can help me out. I'm so confused and lost with my states cosmetology laws. I'm from Pennsylvania and I was planning to do tats and makeup for weddings/proms to see what is in bigger demand in my area. However I saw that in my state regulations anyone who "applies cosmetic preparations" needs a cosmeticians license. So I wrote the state board describing airbrush makeup/ tats and what I want to do and they pretty much told me that " If you will be applying cosmetic preparations you must hold a cosmeticians license to perform work for any type of compensation." So does this mean that to do airbrush makeup I have to have a cosmeticians license but not if I do tats because its entertainment? Im really want to do both but I'm not going to run an illegal business and get fined by the state. I would really appreciate any feedback about this.
Thanks a bunch
Lynn
