well, ive not "made" my own hose, but i have tried to repair a few, out of necessity. when they wear out from being yanked constantly/being rubbed on their holeguides/being dipped in solvents, its usually right at the brush end where they break/leak/split first. good luck trying to duplicate the factory fastener there, which makes them leakproof at that (of course) critical spot. the first thing i tried was the circular hose-clamp, which is tightened with a screwdriver. while it works ok, you soon learn that the clamp itself is now in the way of a few more things, and the clearance between the hose/valve assembly and the bottle is now even smaller, and mine would no longer rest right in their caddy hole. i did find another type hose clamp, while not being as adjustable, isnt as bulky and "in the way" as the screw tightened type. still, there is very little clearance at the area in question, and i still had similar problems with the other type clamp, and finally decided that a new hose for $8-$18 (depending on the brush in question) is really the best way to go. i did try my first quick release for iwata, and did like it, and do recommend it. i also tried connectors to convert a paasche hose for use with iwata eclipse ab...these i didnt like, and dont recommend.
