Also check your Vistor and Conv. bureau. The bigger cities have publications they send to all prospective conventions and you can include yourself there..
Also call local caterers, many customers ask them for references on entertainment. There are also many event coordinators that will work with you, but DON't sign exclusivity with them! Never book directly with their clients or anyone at one of their events.....always go through them for future gigs...that way they can trust you and will use you more often...be advised you may have to work at a lower rate so they can get their cut...look at it this way, if they get you work, it's work you didn't have before...
