Susie J, I have worked the National Balloon Classic in Indianola. This is a rather large event and it attracts many vendors. Part of that event is "Balloons & Tunes On the Square" which is live music and vendors. Usually balloon events provide activities, vendors, activities, etc. to attract people and keep them entertained. Find out where they are located.
If it is just a group of balloonists and no other activities it may not be that productive. If not, be creative! Use the opportunity to strut your stuff and show what you can do. Take time to turn out some really "eye-catching" work. You may just impress the right person or make a contact for another, more lucrative event. Take a camera and photograph some of your work for future reference. Use the time during a slow event to your advantage.
