I agree with Neil. Practicing will enable you to use stencils without adhesive. Especially if you use the stencils you purchase from this website. I highly recommend these stencils.
There are so many stencils available out there why cut your own? For an investment of $4-8 dollars per stencil you save yourself a lot of time. After applying that stencil twice you have made your money back.
There are a few thin stencils I do use an adhesive for. It is from Temptu and their stencils are the ones I use it for because they are very thin. But that adhesive is specifically made for this use. Do not use any spray adhesive you can get at the store, i.e. for scrapbooking or pictures. That is NOT made for skin.
Just my opinion. Just practice, using three fingers to hold the stencil down and you will get it, I promise you.
