Sick African Grey

Hi,
Can someone help me please. I have a 10 month old African Grey who is sick. He started to pick his feathers two days ago and yesterday he seemed to have a runny nose and he makes funny noises (as if he has dificulty breathing). He also doesnt want to eat.
Please can anyone give me some advice as a can not afford to take him to a vet.
