I think there's some advice on one of the other threads about this, but I guess it all depends when you arrive in Phoenix.
I'm going back to ACE in September, but will be arriving a few days before schedule, so will be getting the Greyhound or Flag Express, from the airport. If the ACE staff know you're doing this then they can have someone waiting to meet you at the station, and if not you can ask for a map that should show you the office and accomodation buildings, at which point you can find them for yourself and someone should, though not definately, be able to sort you out with somewhere to sleep.
If you're too late, or just don't want to go the whole distance to Flag, there's a few hotel/motel's around so the best option is probably check the internet and decide from that. It's not the nicest area, so don't expect luxury if you go for a cheap one, and take a taxi from the airport to the hotel, for safety and to stop you from having to carry your luggage.
I think if possible, you should try and get all the way to Flagstaff.
Whatever you decide e-mail Matt, Chris or Kaz to let them know your arrangements, that way everyone knows what's going on.
Oh, and there's pretty much nothing but sand, rock and cacti between Phoenix and Flagstaff so that's not really an option
