For just a second I thought you were named after the famous Edward Abbey character, before I remembered that he was Hayduke.
Nice to see an outsider's opinion on the crew. I've stuck with conservation corps for nearly 12 years now in order to surround myself with the very mentality you describe. A day of physical labor in beautiful place, a project to take pride in, and partners in crime to share the experience with. What more could a sane person want? OK, now I spend most of my time behind a desk or scurrying to meet project partners, but I have a pronounced ability to live vicariously and to enjoy the spirit that surrounds each crew. Thanks for sharing and for your encouragement.
