Hi Guys...don't want to butt in but...I've just returned from an overnight hike from Bald Hill through West Clear Creek in Coconino National Forest, AZ. This area is about as pretty as you'll find. We ran into a 10 person crew from ACE that was doing trail work/repair and they were doing a GREAT job. We chatted a bit with the members and found that there were several international members there--Belgrade, Sweden, (Germany I think), and other countries I've forgotten. We came upon them just at quitting time and everyone was in high spirits and ready to return to camp. I swear they were having as good a time as the actual Seven Dwarfs in Snow White. I used to HOT-SHOT for the Los Angeles Forest years ago and I know all about cutting brush etc. We also cut a lot of trail too. Fighting fires was the best though. The ACE crew came truckin' past us old guys and it warmed my heart to see the comraderie as they headed for camp and a cold bath in the West Clear Creek. I don't you could go wrong with this adventure you're looking at. See You....
