Hey,
Oddly enough, that's the first time anyone has ever asked that question. Traffic is abundant in Flagstaff, which means that by and large bikers and probably skaters make better progress on some days than cars. The University is perfect for skateboards with slower traffic and a ton of bike lanes and sidewalks. Downtown would be a bit congested but certain times of the day would be very navigable. There's a nice paved wide bike/pedestrian trail from downtown to two grocery stores, again ideal for boards. Finally, there's a skate park, but it's a few miles from downtown and from the ACE housing. About housing, if you end up in the Cisco or Uni Houses, you won't have any hills to contend with to get around town. If you end up in one of the 3 units up on aptly named Cedar Hill, you'll be able to get into town in lightning speed but would end up carrying your board back up the hill. All in all, my vote is bring it. I'm all for alternative modes of transportation. But I'm curious what more experienced boarders would think. It's not hard to be more experienced than me since I've never been on one.
